Incheon National University’s Haksan Library (Director Yoon Youngdon) and INU GreatBooks Center (Director Hwang Seunghyun) signed a memorandum of understanding on the 17th with the Incheon Metropolitan City Nambu Office of Education (Superintendent Choi Youngshin) to promote reading education based on the “Read · Walk · Write” model.

The signing ceremony was held at the Incheon Nambu Office of Education, with a total of eight key personnel in attendance, including Director Yoon Youngdon of INU Haksan Library and Superintendent Choi Youngshin of the Incheon Nambu Office of Education.

Through this MOU, the two institutions agreed to establish a cooperative system across the field of reading education, including: △ Development and support of reading curricula for elementary and secondary schools △ Operation and support of teacher training programs to strengthen reading education competencies △ Exchange of personnel and research in the field of reading education.

In particular, the INU GreatBooks Center plans to support capacity-building training programs for teachers and the development of reading programs for elementary and middle school students, while the Incheon Nambu Office of Education will support the promotion and implementation of these reading programs.

It is hoped that INU’s GreatBooks program will make a meaningful contribution to the Incheon education system’s “Read · Walk · Write”-based reading education initiatives.
